2025 Sponsorships

Each year, I select as many rider(s) as my small business can support to represent my brand. This year I am able to support two women who align with my vision for my brand. They are dedicated riders and advocate for me! Below is a small segment on them both with pictures.

This year we welcome back Halyn Lide for another sponsorship year and welcome Christie Brier! Congratulations and thank you ladies!

Halyn Lide

"Hi! I'm Halyn Lide - a wife and mom who is in awe of horses and also loves barrel racing and rodeo. My main team is made up of 2 geldings, Jettin Ta Heaven (Keeper) and Hez Runnin Ta Heaven (Heaven). In 2023, my goal was to get inside the top 30 in the WPRA world standings in order to qualify to compete at the winter rodeos in Texas. June 1st, I had a little over $2000 in world standings money. We had a pretty great (and busy) summer and by September 30th, we managed to meet the goal! This year, I'm enjoying these experiences and I'm grateful for every opportunity. I purchased my first Legacy Leatherworks tack set for Heaven in the fall, and I love everything about it. I'm very excited to represent this company, as Lianna produces high quality, beautiful, and unique tack that is also artwork. I know everyone would love it." Christie Brier

Hello my name is Christie Brier and I'm over the moon excited to be sponsored by Legacy Leather Works LLC!!! 2025 will be my third year in the sport of Extreme Cowboy Racing (EXCA).

My horses are BFR Blackburn Steel (Reign aka My Little Dragon ) and Chisums Miss Kitty (Kat aka The Blonde Bombshell ). We run in the Novice division and my main riding goal for 2025 is to make it into the top 10 at World in Texas this coming November in my division. Hopefully, with some hard work and determination we'll get there!!! My girls will be running this season in their gorgeous tack that Lianna created! Thank you so much, Lianna! Christie works part time at a veterinary clinic and runs her own small foundation quarter horse breeding operation that focuses primarily on Hollywood Gold, Harlans Tyree, and some Blackburn bloodlines.

Coffee, books, horses, and good dogs are her favorite things!

Reign is a 7 year old 100% foundation quarter horse mare who won the 2024 World Champion title in the International Division for EXCA with professional rider and trainer Mattijs Werbrouck on board.

Kat is a 5 year old 100% foundation quarter horse who won 8th place in the Futurity Division at the 2024 EXCA World Championships with clinician, trainer, and professional rider Lee Hart on board

Becoming A Sponsored Rider

My process is not exceedingly complex. I have only a few requirements to qualify.

First, you must be a customer of Legacy Leatherworks. Meaning, it is required that you have made a past purchase from us. This allows any sponsor to attest firsthand to the quality and uniqueness of the products offered.

Second, I take riders into consideration very early each year (usually between January and February). I like to learn a little about each rider to determine who is the best fit. I would equate it to an interview process. I do not have applications at this time. The number of riders are selected based on what my business can support each year.
