Measuring Your Horse:
To ensure accuracy for ordering, please provide these four measurements upfront. This chart provides where to measure. Any questions can be directed to Lianna!
Measurements:
-brow bands are made at 17"
-throat latches (excluding buckle) 34" long
-head stall from end to end ranges 31"-42" long
-wither straps 22"-28" long
-tug straps (excluding buckles) are 26" long
**custom measurements are encouraged for each set for optimal fit. The ideal way is to measure your existing tack at the settings ready for your horse.
This will allow Lianna to make the appropriate adjustments. The most important measurement is your headstall so decorative overlays on cheek pieces are not covered by the crown piece.
What does a custom order include?
These are the options included in your custom order:
-Standard in-stock buckles and conchos of your choice (this excludes the premium handmade buckles and conchos)
-Choice of silver or copper hardware
-Choice of silver or copper spots
-Choice of ear slide (stainless steel only) or stitched one earpiece for one ear or two ear headstalls
-Choice of base leather color (natural, medium, or dark) **pictures of options will be sent
-Choice of three tack set shapes (additional charges apply for the gladiator style and roper style sets)
-Choice of decorative overlay (contact Lianna to determine the right look for you). This includes a stamped overlay as a substitute for a decorative overlay.
**Tooled overlays are always an option, but prices vary based on the complexity of the design, please contact Lianna for pricing**
-Handmade conchos and buckles are available upon request. Hundreds of options are available. Additional pricing applies.
Are items ever replicated?
No, items are never fully replicated. This allows each customer to get a unique and one-of-a-kind work of art.
Leather Care
Our leather creations are like art, which means your tack and other leather products made by us require the most attention and care to last a lifetime.
Leather is prone to drying out due to the sweat and dirt it is exposed to regularly. Frequent cleanings with saddle or leather soap, followed by Neatsfoot oil (or any other oil intended for leather use). Follow this up with a leather sealer to keep it feeling soft and supple, this will also prevent moisture from penetrating the sealant. Apply the sealant more generously to the back side of the leather as that is the side exposed to the most sweat.
When cleaning tooled or stamped items, use a more gentle and less abrasive cleaning method. Toothbrushes work great for the heavily sweated or dirty areas, but can damage the protective finishes on the tooled areas. When cleaning a tooled area, use a soft cloth with your leather cleaner.
